How To Deposit Money Order Into Prepaid Card

Best way to convert prepaid Mastercard into cash??

I'm finally getting some cards this morning for switching from another carrier. What's the best way to convert this into cash with zero to minimal fees?

I have researched and it seems you can use them at certain ATMs without fees (not sure how valid that is). You can also get a money order at Walmart for only 70 cents.

Any other suggestions?

edit: Using Gmail or Google Wallet does not work. Says that you cannot use prepaid cards

Pay yourself via venmo, and then transfer to your checking account.

This is probably the best option so far since it's no fees for debit cards/prepaid cards

Take it to citibank,

Register the cards online on the website on the back of the card, set a pin, then enable the cash advance option, then go to any major bank tell them you want a cash advance, why wont charge a fee.

Kinda related but not exactly what you are looking for I always put my rebates towards amazon gift cards that just hang on my account. I know its not cash, but if you are an amazon addict its next best thing

Problem is Amazon gift balance is worth less than face value. Anyone can buy it at ~$0.91 cents on the dollar (overpay tax refund example). You also lose extended warranty and price protection if you pay with Amazon gift card, which are useful on larger purchases.

Still it is an easy option to just load to Amazon

I got one last week and it stated that it can't be used for cash back, cash advances, or used at ATMs.
I didn't try to get cash but they mentioned it twice while activating the card.

Most prepaid cards can't be directly converted to cash. There are federal laws regarding this due to their frequent use in laundering drug money.

I'd buy a money order at walmart money center. Another option is to dump it into your favorite places to shop. I almost always buy Amazon gift cards since they never expire.

If you have a car, go get gas gift cards at your choice gas station, if you are like most people, you have to put gas in your car.

Don't the cards work everywhere credit or debit cards are accepted. Why turn it in cash or like the other user said Amazon Giftcard which is more limited?

All cards expire at some point, and many of them have fees if you don't use them for a certain amount of time. Plus, turning it into cash means you can use your regular credit card instead, which ideally you have cash back on. Regular credit cards also have purchase protection and stuff.
